Nestled among stately ponderosa pines on the Spokane Arm of Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area, Porcupine Bay Campground is a compact gem with just 20 sites that feel worlds away from the bustle of nearby Spokane. The towering pines provide generous shade and fill the air with that distinctive resinous scent, while the 130-mile lake offers endless possibilities for boating, fishing, and swimming. What makes Porcupine Bay special is its intimate size — you never feel crowded, and the pine-filtered lake views create a genuinely tranquil atmosphere. Summer weekends are popular, so midweek visits reward you with near-solitude and calm waters. The campground works well for both tent campers and smaller RVs, though larger rigs should check site dimensions before booking.
