Our Take
What makes Red Springs Campground special
Conveniently located just off Highway 191 near Vernal, Utah, Red Springs Campground puts you at the doorstep of some of the most dramatic landscape in the American West. This is dinosaur country, where the ancient earth pushes up in layers of red, cream, and ochre, and the sky stretches endlessly above the high desert plateau. The campground serves as an excellent base camp for exploring the region's headline attractions. Dinosaur National Monument is a short drive away, offering world-famous fossil quarries and sweeping canyon vistas. Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area lies to the north, with its stunning reservoir, trophy fishing, and river rafting opportunities on the Green River. Red Springs itself offers a straightforward camping experience with easy highway access, making it a practical choice for travelers passing through or settling in for a few days of exploration. The setting is classic Uinta Basin: open views, warm-toned rock formations, and the kind of quiet evenings that invite long conversations around the campfire.
