About Brushkana Creek Campground

Overview Brushkana Creek Campground is located at MP 104.5 along the Denali Highway. This site is mostly utilized during the snow free season, May through September. Winter physically closes the campground road access, and it is only reached by foot, dog sled or snowmachine. Our Take

What makes Brushkana Creek Campground special

Brushkana Creek Campground sits at Mile 104.5 of Alaska's Denali Highway, one of the most spectacularly remote roads in North America. The 22 sites are spread along the creek in a landscape of tundra, boreal forest, and sweeping mountain panoramas that define Interior Alaska. Bear-proof food lockers at each site are not a suggestion but a necessity — grizzlies and black bears are active throughout the corridor, and proper food storage is essential. The campground is open from May through September, and the best time to visit depends on what you are after: June brings midnight sun and wildflowers, August offers blueberry picking and fall color starting early, and September delivers the full tundra palette of reds and golds under increasingly dramatic skies. Fishing in Brushkana Creek and nearby lakes produces grayling and lake trout. There are no hookups, no cell service, and no crowds — just raw Alaska. This campground is built for self-reliant adventurers, wildlife watchers, photographers, and anyone willing to trade convenience for one of the most awe-inspiring camping experiences in the country.
